2010 Season - John Mago named All-Region

Viking senior linebacker John Mago has been named to D3Football.com's All-North Region second team.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Augustana senior linebacker John Mago (Cary-Grove HS, Cary, Ill.) added another honor to his growing list this week, being named to D3Football.com's All-North Region second team.

Mago was the Vikings' leading tackler this season with 54 solo stops, 60 assists and 114 total tackles. He had three sacks, 11 tackles for loss and one interception and was the Defensive MVP for a Viking team that finished 6-4 overall and tied for third in the CCIW at 4-3. In CCIW play, he was just one off the league lead in both solo tackles (45) and total stops (72). He was a first team All-CCIW selection.

The D3Football.com honors come on the heels of Mago being named, along with teammates Curt Perschnick and Drew Hansen, to the roster for the Tazon de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars) to be played in Monterrey, Mexico on December 18. He was also recently named a first team Academic All-American by ESPN and the College Sports Information Directors of America.
