2010-11 Season - Reppy, Hinck go one-two in 500 free at Grinnell

Freshman Justin Reppy won the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:58.25 at the Grinnell Invitational on Friday, December 3. He also swam legs on the third place 200 freestyle relay and sixth place 400 medley relay as Augustana was in third place after the first day of competition.

A one-two finish by the freshman duo of Justin Reppy (Oswego HS, Oswego, Ill.) and Daniel Hinck (Harlem HS, Loves Park, Ill.) helped Augustana to a third place in the team standings at the Grinnell Invitational after the first day of competition on Friday, December 3 in Grinnell, Iowa. Grinnell leads the team race with 335 points while Loras is second with 259.5. Augustana is all alone in third place after piling up 227.5 points. Principia is a distant fourth with 129 and Ripon is fifth with 120. Coe 98), Carroll (96), Beloit (86), Illinois College (58), Knox (54) and Luther (20) round out the 11 team field.

Reppy went 4:58.25 to win the 500 freestyle and Hinck was close behind with a time of 5:00.24 in second place. Augustana also got a seventh in the event from sophomore Chris Greaves (Morris HS, Morris, Ill.) and an eighth from freshman Austin Zarbruck (Urbana HS, Urbana, Ill.). Greaves was timed in 5:09.27 and Zarbruck stopped the watches at 5:09.44.

Hinck also added a fourth in the 50 freestyle with a time of :22.87 while Greaves was sixth in :23.08.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Reppy, junior Charles Vogt (Oak Park-River Forest HS, Oak Park, Ill.), Greaves and Hinck took third in a time of 1:29.99 to start the evening. The 400 medley relay of Greaves, freshman Jasen Hengst (Bettendorf HS, Bettendorf, Iowa), Reppy and Hinck took sixth in 3:53.02.
