2010 Season - Vikings finish fifth at CCIW meet

Hannah Hottle was Augustana's top individual with a 17th-place finish at Saturday's CCIW Championships at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill.

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - Hannah Hottle (Monmouth-Roseville HS, Monmouth, Ill.) finished 17th and Augustana, as a team, took fifth place Saturday at the CCIW Championships at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois. Hottle ran a 23:36.1, finishing three spots ahead of teammate Theresa Coverick (Stagg HS, Palos Park, Ill.), who was 20th in 23:47.1. North Central had three of the top four finishers, including winner Amanda Laesch (21:47.2), and won the team title.

 Augustana's Annie Heifner (Oregon HS, Oregon, Wis.) finished 24th in a time of 24:05.1 and Kristin Sattizahn (Erie HS, Erie, Ill.) ran a 27th-place 24:06.6. The Vikings' top seven was rounded out by Angela Pisani (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.), who finished 37th with a time of 24:36.7; Tara Bistry, who was 40th in a time of 24:45.7 and Emma Grandgeorge (Sycamore HS, Sycamore, Ill.), who ran a 24:51.0-good for 42nd.

 Other Augustana finishers included Meaghan Reaney (Lincoln-Way Central, New Lenox, Ill.), who ran a 25:25.4 for 48th place and Kirstillyn Pohlman (Zion-Benton HS, Winthrop Harbor, Ill.), who was 51st in 25:38.4.

 Illinois Wesleyan, with 63 points, was second behind North Central's 26. Wheaton came in third with 76. Elmhurst was fourth with 99, followed by Augustana's 114 and Carthage's 152.

 On Saturday, November 13, the Vikings will be hosting the NCAA Midwest Regional at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois.
