2010 Season - Vikings fall to 3-2 in CCIW with loss at Elmhurst

Senior Courtney Jungnickel led the Vikings with 12 kills during a CCIW loss at Elmhurst on Tuesday night.

The road was not kind to the Augustana volleyball team on Tuesday night as the Vikings dropped a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin match to Elmhurst at Faganel Hall. The Bluejays controlled the match, winning in three games by scores of 25-13; 25-11; 25-20.

Senior Courtney Jungnickel (Naperville Central HS, Naperville, Ill.) was the top offensive producer for Augustana in the match as she had 12 kills in 28 attempts with four errors. She also added seven digs. Junior Brianna Skeens (Vernon Hills HS, Libertyville, Ill.) had seven kills with one dig and one assisted block.

Sophomore Kelsey Mikula (Coal City HS, Coal City, Ill.) had 16 setting assists and freshman Katrina Colclasure (Tri-Valley HS, Bloomington, Ill.) added eight. Sophomore Shannon Slick (Rockton Hononegah HS, Roscoe, Ill.) had a team high 15 digs.

Augustana fell to 9-16 overall and 3-2 in the CCIW. The Vikings will be in action next on Tuesday, October 19 at home against North Central. The starting time for that match will be 7:00 p.m. and it will be “Senior Night” and Jungnickel and fellow senior Jenna Loncar (Marist HS, Chicago, Ill.) will be honored.
