2010-11 Season - Vikings in fifth after first day of CCIW

Brittany Carr is currently in 13th place after the first day of competition in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tournament at Cantigny Golf Course in Wheaton, Illinois. She fired an 85 on Thursday, October 7.

WHEATON, Illinois - Junior Brittany Carr (Lincoln-Way East HS, Frankfort, Ill.) fired an 85 to lead Augustana in the first day of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin women's golf tournament. The three-day CCIW tournament is held at Cantigny Golf Course in Wheaton, Illinois.

Carr is currently in 13th place individually as she shot a 42 on the front nine and a 43 on the back. Sophomore Megan Vandersee (Sterling HS, Sterling, Ill.) and senior Morgan Wilkinson (Westmont HS, Westmont, Ill.) each had rounds of 86 and are tied for 14th place. Freshman Kelly Farina (Normal West HS, Bloomington, Ill.) had an 89 and is in 22nd place.

The Vikings had a 346 as a team and are currently in fifth place in the team standings. Illinois Wesleyan is leading with a 326 while North Central is second with 334. Wheaton and Millikin are tied for third with identical scores of 338. Carthage is eight strokes behind Augustana with a score of 354 while Elmhurst is in seventh with a 368. North Park is not fielding a full team.

Freshman Jamie Lawrence (Moline HS, Moline, Ill.) shot a 94 and senior Jessica Berens (Schaumburg HS, Schaumburg, Ill.) had a 96.

The individual leader is Casi Blanton of Wheaton with a 78.
