Peters, who went 4-1 with a 3.47 ERA this season for a 28-12 Viking squad, signed Wednesday morning and expects to make his professional debut this weekend with the Nationals' Gulf Coast League affiliate in Viera, Florida.]]></description>

        <description><![CDATA[Coach Greg Wallace’s Augustana baseball team closed the 2011 season by winning eight of its last nine contests to finish the year 28-12—the 12th time in the last 13 seasons the Vikings have achieved at least 25 wins. The team finished 12-9 in CCIW play. Along the way, Wallace picked up his 400th win at Augustana and he now has a record of 409-189 (.684) in 14 seasons at his alma mater.]]></description>

The visitors battled back from a 3-0 deficit in the opener, scoring five runs in the last three innings, but couldn't hang on as North Park scored three in the ninth for a 6-5 win. Sophomore shortstop Jeremy Juhl led off game two with a homer, but that would be all the offense Augustana would get as the hosts scored five runs in the seventh and eighth innings to complete the sweep 6-1.]]></description>
