Plans after graduation
I'm going to graduate school and will eventually get a Ph.D. in Sociology. I'm also considering getting a master's degree in Social Work and/or Human Sexuality.
How did Augustana prepare you for life after graduation?
Augustana has provided me with the tools necessary to tackle anything life throws at me.
What are you looking forward to about life after graduation?
I'm looking forward to applying what I learned at Augustana to the world and furthering my education, eventually getting a doctorate.
What will you miss about Augustana?
I will probably miss a lot of things about Augie. My top five things would be: 1) the Quad - I love to lay out and enjoy the surroundings; 2) the library; 3) the support staff-they always know how to brighten the dreariest of days; 4) the professors-specifically being able to have open, uncensored conversations with faculty; and 5) the feeling of familiarity and being "home."
What was your favorite memory from Augie?
Traveling to Chicago with fellow sociology majors and faculty for the Midwest Sociological Society meeting. Another favorite memory was going to Atlanta with Dr. Sommer and having the opportunity to mingle with leading scholars.
What advice would you give to current students?
Do not take these four years for granted; the time passes quickly.
