Plans after graduation
I will be attending graduate school for speech-language pathology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln next fall.
How did Augustana prepare you for life after college?
I have received a great, well-rounded liberal arts education at Augustana. I have learned to embrace ambiguity and analyze complex problems from multiple viewpoints. I feel confident that my undergrad experiences at Augie have prepared me well for graduate school.
What are you looking forward to about life after graduation?
I'm looking forward to applying what I've learned in the classroom to the real world.
What will you miss about Augustana?
Whitey's ice cream! And all of the friendly and helpful teachers and fellow classmates that I've met during my last four years at Augustana.
What was your favorite memory from Augie?
Last April, the CSD majors organized a Spring Fling for the teenage clients of the Augustana College Center for Speech, Language, and Hearing. We hosted the dance at the Carriage House, and it was a blast! For the student clinicians, it was especially fun to see our clients outside of the clinic room, where we could just relax and have fun together. At the Spring Fling, the student clinicians and clients had a great time dancing, singing Karaoke, and playing party games. This is certainly a memory I will never forget! Hopefully I will be able to replicate this idea for the clients at the speech-language pahtology clinic at UNL.
What advice would you give to current students?
Get involved and take advantage of the many unique and exciting experiences that Augustana has to offer. Your time at Augie will fly by faster than you could ever imagine!
