Plans after graduation

I am teaching K-4 general music at Prairie Crest Elementary in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

How did Augustana prepare you for life after college?

Augustana in general has given me a well rounded education, lifelong friends, and 4 years that I will hold close to my heart. The Augustana Music department has exposed me to a world full of wonderful music, outstanding performances, and talented professors. The Education department has prepared me well and I feel ready to tackle my own classroom of students in the fall!

What are you looking forward to about life after graduation?

I am looking forward to applying all the knowledge I have learned over the past four years. I am excited to finally teach children the joy of music.

What will you miss about Augustana?

I anticipate missing the professors at Augustana that I have grown so fond of, I will miss the free concerts and recitals that are available every week, I will miss seeing my friends every day around campus, but most importantly I will miss being able to take all of the different and exciting classes Augustana offers.

What was your favorite memory from Augie?

One of my favorite memories at Augustana would definitely be going to Scandinavia with the Augustana Choir during my sophomore year.

What advice would you give to current students?

The advice that I would give to students at Augustana is cherish the time that you have at Augie; cherish the moments, the friends, the classes, the professors, and the various activities offered on campus.
