Plans after graduation
My plan after graduation is to find a music teaching job hopefully at the elementary general music or middle school choir level.
How did Augustana prepare you for life after college?
Through numerous leadership opportunities, experiences serving in the community, and the excellent education program, Augustana has given me the tools and the confidence I need for life after graduation.
What are you looking forward to about life after graduation?
What I am looking forward to about life after graduation is a new change in routine. Instead of being a student in the classroom, I am switching roles and get to be the teacher. I am excited to take on new challenges as a teacher and apply what I have learned at Augustana into my own classroom.
What will you miss about Augustana?
Besides the beautiful campus and late night study breaks to get ice cream at Whitey's, what I will miss the most about Augustana are the people. From my sorority sisters and classmates in my major to my music ensemble directors and professors, so many different people have shaped my college experience at Augustana. These people have motivated, supported, challenged, and inspired me and were also there for me during my best and worst times.
What was your favorite memory from Augie?
One of my favorite memories at Augustana College was traveling to Scandinavia to tour with the Augustana Choir. I was able to sing in the most outstanding cathedrals, sight see, and form lasting friendships with members of the choir. We were also able to spread our passion for singing with others and it was rewarding to see the positive and emotional reactions of the audience during each performance.
What advice would you give to current students?
The advice I would give to current students at Augustana is that four years fly by faster than you think, so take hold of every opportunity you can. Don't be afraid to try something you never thought you would do, whether it's joining a club or taking a class in an unfamiliar subject, you may surprise yourself!
