Fall Connection Events for First Year Advisors

Thursday, August 19 11:30-1:00 Picnic Lunch for incoming students (not required) 1:00-1:45 Opening Convocation 2:15-3:15 Advising meeting with parents Friday, August 20 12:00-1:00 Advising Group picnic lunch 1:00-4:45 Group meeting with advisees, followed by individual meetings withadvisees (The schedule from 12-4:45 is flexible; you may combine lunch, a group meeting, and individual meetings however you choose). Sunday, August 22 1:00-2:45 Augie Reads panel and discussion groups (led by First Year Advisors) |

Fall Term
Monday, Week 2 (Aug. 30) Last day to add a class.
Week 2 (Aug. 30-Sept. 3) Contact first-year students to inquire about their adaptation to campus life.
End of Week 5 (Sept. 24) Drop deadline to avoid a "W" grade.
Week 6 (Sept. 27-Oct. 1) PUGs sent out; contact struggling student and/or their instructors.
Week 6 (Sept. 27-Oct. 1) FYAs get together with their advising groups around this week: go over registration process, sign up for individual meetings., etc...
Friday, Week 7 (Oct. 8) Drop deadline (transcript will list a "W" grade).
Weeks 7-8 (Oct. 4-15) FYAs meet individually with advisees.
Week 8 (Oct. 8-15) Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors register on Webadvisor.
Week 9 (Oct. 20-22) First Years register on Webadvisor.
Winter Term
Monday, Week 2 (Nov. 22) Last day to add a class.
First half of Winter Term Social event for FYA groups.
End of Week 5 (Dec. 17) Drop deadline to avoid a "W" grade."
Week 6 (Jan. 10-14) PUGs sent out; contact struggling student and/or their instructors.
Week 6 (Jan. 10-14) FYAs get together with their advising groups around this week: socialize, check on progress, talk about majors, etc...
Friday, Week 7 (Jan. 17) Drop deadline (transcript will list a "W" grade).
Weeks 7-8 (Jan. 17-28) FYAs meet individually with advisees.
Week 8 (Jan. 21-28) Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors register on Webadvisor.
Week 9 (Feb. 1-4) First Year students register on Webadvisor.
Spring Term
Monday, Week 2 (March 14) Last day to add a class.
Week 2 (March 14) First-years receive an email telling them they can declare a major if they desire. FYAs could email their advisees, offering to meet with any students who would like to talk about this process or about deciding on a major.
End of Week 5 (April 8) Drop deadline to avoid a "W" grade."
Week 6 (April 11-15) PUGs sent out; contact struggling student and/or their instructors.
Week 5-6 (April 4-15) All advisors should contact their advisees, set up necessary meetings;
Thursday, Week 7 (April 22) Drop deadline (transcript will list a "W" grade).
Weeks 6-7 (April 11-22) FYAs meet individually with advisees: discuss classes, major, year as a whole.
Week Eight (April 25-29) All returning students register on Webadvisor
