2009-2010 Season - Henry leads Vikings at CCIW Championships
DECATUR, Ill. – Jordan Henry (Erie HS, Erie, Ill.) leads the Vikings and is in 26th place after the opening two rounds of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championships this past weekend. Henry shot a first round 78 and came back with an 82 in the second round for a total of 160. The first two rounds of play were held at the Country Club of Decatur in Decatur, Illinois.
Augustana is eighth in the team race after rounds of 322 and 327 gave the Vikings a two day total of 649. Illinois Wesleyan leads with a score of 595 and Millikin is second (602), just one shot ahead of Wheaton (603). North Central (619), Carthage (620), North Park (626), and Elmhurst (640) round out the field.
Jeff Paustian (Geneva HS, Geneva, Ill.) is second for the Blue & Gold and tied for 29th with a two day total of 162. He fired on 81 on each day of competition. Jon Grchan (Moline HS, Moline, Ill.) is just one shot behind at 163. He is tied for 33rd after rounds of 81 and 82. Cole Wells (Tri-Valley HS, Downs, Ill.) shot an 86 in round one, but rallied back with an 82 on the second day. He is 39th with a score of 168. Phil Litchfield (Benet Academy, Darien, Ill.) is 40th with a score of 169 (82 + 87).
The Vikings are back in action at the Scot-Fire Invite on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24. Augustana will compete in the final two rounds of the CCIW Championships on April 30 and May 1.
