2009-2010 Season - Day one of the Viking Olympics
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana sophomore Sarah Johnson (Grayslake North, Lake Villa, Ill.) ran a 12:27.86 in the 3000 meter steeplechase, taking third place on day one of the Vikings Olympics Friday. The meet continues at 12:00 noon on Saturday at Augustana’s Paul V. Olsen Track/Ericson Field.
Juniors Katie Reis (Regina HS, Iowa City, Iowa) and Brittany Prazak (Naperville North HS, Naperville, Ill.) finished right behind Johnson in the steeplechase, running 12:37.14 and 12:47.76, respectively, to finish fourth and fifth.
The Augustana 4x800 relay team finished second with a time of 9:44.13.
Seniors Libby Geison (Bloomington HS, Bloomington, Ill.) and Caitlin Quinn (Metamora HS, Metamora, Ill.) each cleared 9’ 8” in the pole vault with Geison finishing fourth and Quinn fifth. Sophomore Megan Lecander (Sherrard HS, Sherrard, Ill.) went 8’ 2½” to finish seventh.
Sophomore Catherine Foreman (St. Joseph-Ogden HS, St. Joseph, Ill.) threw 111’ 3” in the javelin to take fifth place and senior Ainsley Fedler (Burlington HS, Burlington, Iowa) finished sixth at 200 meters in a time of :26.76
