2010 Season - Weather forces switch of St. Ambrose games
Because of wet field conditions, the scheduled non-conference softball doubleheader between Augustana and St. Ambrose has been rescheduled. The twin-bill was originally set for 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11 at Assumption High School in Davenport, Iowa.
Rain and melting snow has made a switch in the schedule necessary. The doubleheader will now be split into two separate seven inning contests. Augustana and St. Ambrose will play a single game on Thursday, April 8 at 4:00 p.m. on the Carver Field in Rock Island and two days later, on Saturday, April 10 at 12:00 noon, the two teams will hook up at Assumption.
Augustana head coach Kris Kistler, who is just one victory away from winning her 300th game with the Vikings, currently has her team at 7-2 overall after coming back from a spring break trip in Clermont, Florida. The highlight of the trip was a 2-1 victory over Ohio Northern, ranked second in NCAA Division III, on Thursday, March 4.
The next action for Augustana will be on March 20 in St. Louis, Missouri when the Vikings compete in the Washington University Tournament. Augustana will play Washington and Buena Vista on Saturday, March 20 and Central of Iowa and Fontbonne on Sunday, March 21.
