2009-2010 Season - Women's track and field ranked 29th
Head coach Fred Whiteside’s Augustana women’s track & field team is ranked 29th in the latest NCAA Division III indoor power ranking of the 2010 season. The power ranking is sponsored by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) and it encompasses the top two performances by each team in every event.
The Vikings are ranked 29th with 114.72 points. Two members of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin are ranked ahead of Augustana and are in the top 10 in the nation. North Central is ranked third with 148.86 points, and Illinois Wesleyan is ranked seventh with 141.17 points. The top seven teams reside in the Midwest region. Wisconsin La Crosse still has the number one ranking with 156.10 points. Wisconsin-Eau Claire (2nd -152.70), Wisconsin-Whitewater (4th -146.78), Wisconsin-Oshkosh (5th -143.58) and University of Chicago (6th -143.29) also call the Midwest Region home.
Rounding out the top 10 is: University of St. Thomas of Minnesota (8th with 140.84), University of Rochester (9th with 135.50) and College of New Jersey (10th -134.33). Augustana placed 5th at the CCIW Championship on February 27th and 28th, which concluded the indoor season.
