Brazilian guitarist to host concert
Brazilian guitarist and professor Dr. Guilherme Vincens will perform on Saturday, March 27 at 3 p.m. in Wallenberg Hall within the Denkmann Memorial Building (3520 7th Ave). During the concert, which is free and open to the public, he will play a variety of works by Brazilian composers.
Vincens is a full-time professor of guitar and coordinator of the superior degree in music at Federal University of São João Del Rei (UFSJ) in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The award-winning guitarist is frequently invited to perform, teach, research and lecture at music festivals, universities and concert series throughout Brazil, United States, Spain and Latin America. He has received more than 12 awards in national and international guitar competitions including the Portland International Guitar Competition, Souza Lima Competition in São Paulo, and Jovens Solistas Competition in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
