2009-2010 Season - Vikings ranked fifth in nation heading into CCIW
With the 2010 indoor track and field season winding down, the Augustana men’s team finds itself ranked fifth in the latest NCAA Division III Track & Field Team Dual Meet Rankings. The power ranking is sponsored by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) and it encompasses the top two performances by each team in every event.
The fifth set of rankings has Augustana with 149.69 points with fellow College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin member North Central in the third spot with 159.68 points. Wisconsin-Oshkosh (166.97) continues to hold on to the top spot in the rankings while fellow Wisconsin schools Stevens Point (162.99) and La Crosse (156.71) hold the second and fourth spots respectively. The Midwest Region continued to show its dominance in the latest poll boasting the top six spots and seven of the top ten. Wisconsin-Eau Claire (145.86) and Carthage (138.48) are ranked sixth and ninth respectively. College of New Jersey (7 th – 139.86), Central College of Iowa (8 th – 139.77), and Nebraska Wesleyan (10 th – 138.01) round out the top ten.
The Vikings placed 1 st in the twelve team field at the Spartan Invitational hosted by the University of Dubuque on February 20. The Augustana men’s team will be competing at the CCIW Conference meet in Naperville on February 26 and 27.
