2009-2010 Season - Men stay in fifth in CCIW championship meet

Augustana is in fifth place after the second day of competition at the 2010 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin men’s swimming and diving championship. The meet is held at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Carthage leads the meet with 691.5 points while Wheaton is second with 504.5 and Illinois Wesleyan is third with 321.5. Rose-Hulman is in fourth with 312 and Augustana has 154.5 points in fifth. Millikin is in sixth with 132.

The 200 medley relay team of senior Eric Zike (Ridgeview HS, Colfax, Ill.), freshman Marcus Julian (Lake Park HS, Itasca, Ill.), freshman Chris Greaves (Morris HS, Morris, Ill.) and senior Kyle Waller (DeKalb HS, DeKalb, Ill.) finished fifth in 1:38.76. The 800 freestyle relay unit of sophomore Denny Wind (Downers Grove North HS, Downers Grove, Ill.), freshman Eric Pease (Sterling HS, Sterling, Ill.) and senior Jacob Glimco (Neuqua Valley HS, Naperville, Ill.) placed sixth in 7:56.08.

Julian had the top individual performance of the day when he took ninth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.69. Greaves hauled in a 13th place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:48.69. Pease placed 15th in the 400 individual medley at 4:52.05. Zike was 15th in the 100 butterfly in :56.27 and 15th in the 100 backstroke in :57.84.
