2009-2010 Season - Men's Track and Field still ranked 3rd
It is more than halfway through the 2010 indoor track season and the Augustana men's team has retained its number three ranking in the latest NCAA Division III Track & Field Team Dual Meet Rankings. The power ranking is sponsored by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) and it encompasses the top two performances by each team in every event.
The third set of rankings has Augustana with 147.80 points with fellow College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin member North Central one spot ahead of them with 155.21 points. Wisconsin-Oshkosh (158.04) remains the top ranked squad while The College of New Jersey (138.32) moves up one spot from last week. Nebraska Wesleyan (134.02) finds itself rounding out the top five. This week six of the top 10 teams in the national ranking reside in the Midwest Region. Carthage (133.00), also a CCIW member, holds the sixth spot just ahead of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (130.33). Wisconsin-Platteville moves up one spot to ninth with 127.49 points.
The Vikings were 5 th in the eight team field at the Warhawk Invitational on February 5. They will be hosting the Augie Invitational on February 13 in Rock Island, Illinois.
