2009-2010 Season - Women's track and field ranked 20th
Head coach Fred Whiteside's Augustana women's track & field team is ranked 20 th in the latest NCAA Division III indoor power ranking of the 2010 season. The power ranking is sponsored by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) and it encompasses the top two performances by each team in every event.
The Vikings have accumulated 99.94 points in the poll and ahead of them are three members of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin. North Central is currently in a tie with Wisconsin-Lacrosse for the number one ranking. Both teams have accumulated 128.41 points. Illinois Wesleyan remains in third with 131.90 points and Carthage slipped to tenth with 111.63. Five of the top ten teams in the nation call the Midwest Region home. Monmouth has claimed the number six spot with 119.68 points. Wartburg (129.72) and College of New Jersey (122.92) moved into 4 th and 5 th respectively.
Rounding out the top 10 is: Ohio Wesleyan (seventh with 117.27), Christopher Newport (eighth with 112.71) and Nebraska Wesleyan (ninth with 112.25. Augustana placed 7th in the nine team field at the Warhawk Invitational on February 6. The Vikings will be hosting the Augie Invitational on Saturday, February 13 in Rock Island, Illinois.
