2009-2010 Season - Davis named CCIW Runner of the Week
Augustana sophomore Greg Davis (Carlinville HS, Carlinville, Ill.) was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin’s “Runner of the Week” for men’s track and field for the week ending January 30th. He currently has the best 300 meter time for the Vikings this season, clocking a :37.01 at the Midwest Invitational in Monmouth, Illinois on January 23rd.l
Davis has been an integral part of Head Coach Paul Olsen’s Viking squad that was ranked 2nd in the nation in the initial NCAA Division III indoor power rankings that came out last week. The team is on a roll, having won all three meets they have competed in, including the Lutheran Triangular this past weekend. The Vikings scored 144 points, beating a solid Wartburg team (124) and Grand View College (96).
The Vikings will compete next at the Warhawk Invitational on Friday, February 5 at 5:00 p.m. in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
Greg is a Pre-Physical Therapy/Biology Major and is the son of Jean and Brent Davis of Carlinville, Illinois.
