2009-10 Season - Vikings stay in top 20 NCAA Division III poll
A pair of losses last week didn’t really drop Augustana very far in the D3hoops.com men’s basketball poll. The Vikings were 15 th last week after starting the season 5-0 but then fell at Gonzaga (79-40) on Wednesday, December 9 and at Washington (71-53) on Saturday, December 12. Defeats at the hands of a top 20 NCAA Division I program (Gonzaga) and the two time defending NCAA Division III national champion (Washington) only precipitated a drop of three spots in this week’s poll. Augustana is now 18 th with 167 points. The Vikings are currently 5-2 and will play home games against Monmouth (tonight) and Monmouth (Sunday, December 20) and a road game at Wisconsin-Whitewater (Tuesday, December 22) before Christmas.
