2009-2010 Season - Holland picks up win over 10th ranked Cardinals

For the second dual meet in a row Augustana was defeated by a team ranked 10th in the latest NCAA Division III national wrestling poll. Back on November 25 the Vikings of third year head coach Eric Juergens fell to a Cornell team that was ranked 10th in the nation. Last night, Juergens crew fell to a North Central unit that was also ranked 10th in NCAA Division III. This time the score of 37-3 with Zac Holland (West Des Moines Dowling HS, Pleasant Hill, Iowa) picking up the lone Augustana victory.

Holland moved his record to 9-7 on the season with a 4-0 victory over David Oviatt at 157 pounds. The Vikings were involved in close matches at 165 and 285 pounds but were unable to come away with victories. Matt Burns (Naperville Central HS, Naperville, Ill.) lost to Joby Bodi by a score of 6-3 at 165 and Pat Kilroy (Lisle HS, Lisle, Ill.) fell to Rodney Knowlton at 285 by a margin of 4-0.

Augustana is now 0-3 in dual meets this year and will be in action again on Wednesday, December 9 with a dual meet at Elmhurst.
