2009-2010 Season - Halftime lead not enough for women's basketball
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After scoring 40 points in the first half, the Augustana women’s basketball team was held to 24 points in the second half in an 86-64 loss at Colorado College on Friday, November 20 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The Vikings led 40-37 at halftime, but were outscored 49-24 in the second half as the Tigers pulled away for the home win. Augustana shot the ball well, hitting 49.1 percent (26-53) of its shots, but only connected on 10.0 percent (1-10) of its three point field goal attempts.
Senior Kristen Fox (Ottawa HS, Ottawa, Ill.) led the team in scoring with 14 points. She also contributed a team high five rebounds. Sophomore Lani Kasten (German Valley HS, Forreston, Ill.) was the second Viking in double figures, finishing the contest with 12 points.
Colorado College received 19 points from Becky Luetjen, who was one of three Tigers to score in double figures.
The Vikings fall to 0-2 on the season and will face Piedmont in the final game of the trip.
