2009 Season - Vikings Finish 16th at Midwest Regional

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – The Augustana women’s cross country team was led by junior Hannah Hottle (Monmouth-Roseville HS, Monmouth, Ill.) Saturday at the Midwest Regional with a time of 23:26. Hottle was the 67th overall finisher in the 6,000 meter race. The meet was held in Winneconne, Wisconsin at the Lake Breeze Golf Course and was hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Vikings finished 16th overall with a score of 454.
Freshman Theresa Coverick (Stagg HS, Palos Park, Ill.) finished second for the Vikings and 84th overall in 23:41, freshman Annie Heifner (Oregon HS, Oregon, Wis.) finished third and 90th overall with a time of 23:45. Finishing fourth, was junior Meaghan Reaney (Lincoln Way Central, New Lenox, Ill.) in 95th place in 23:54, fifth was freshman Tara Bistry (Joliet Catholic HS, Shorewood, Ill.) in 118th in 24:32, and sixth was freshman Sarahbeth Jones (Warren Township HS, Wadsworth, Ill.) and 139th overall with a time of 24:57. Rounding off the Vikings in the seventh spot was senior co-captain Sam Laskowski (Reavis HS, Oak Lawn, Ill.) who finished 158th overall in 25:24 in her final cross country race as a Viking.
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire finished the meet in first place with a score of 52. Washington University was second (72), University of Wisconsin-La Crosse took third (98), University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh was fourth (139), North Central finished fifth (208), University of Chicago took sixth (237), and Wheaton finished seventh with a score of 251.
