2009 Season - Jungnickel earns All-CCIW recognition
NAPERVILLE, Illinois – Augustana junior outside hitter Courtney Jungnickel (Naperville Central HS, Naperville, Ill.) has been named to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin all-conference volleyball team for the 2009 season. Jungnickel, who was an honorable mention selection in both 2007 and 2008, was named to the second team and was the lone Viking honored.
She led the team in kills with 424 in 109 games for an average of 3.89 per game and she posted a hitting percentage of .234 (424 kills in 1085 attempts with 170 errors). She was second on the Vikings in digs with 409, an average of 3.75 per game. Jungnickel also led the squad in service aces with 52 and she also contributed 35 total blocks (20 solo and 15 assists).
In CCIW action she was second in the league in kills with 3.83 per game (92 kills in 24 conference games). In overall games she led the conference in kills and server aces and was eighth in digs.
Jungnickel has played in 359 games during her Augustana career and has recorded 1,065 kills, 157 service aces, 1,180 digs and 100 total blocks (37 solo and 63 assists). Currently she ranks third on the Vikings career list in service aces and is eighth in both kills and digs. Her average of 3.89 kills per game this season is the third highest single season total in school history and her 0.48 service aces per game is tied for fifth.
