2009-2010 Season - Clennon named Swimmer of the Week

Augustana freshman Molly Clennon (Benet Academy, Naperville, Ill.) has gotten off to a strong start in her first season of collegiate swimming. She was named the “Swimmer of the Week” in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin for her performance last Saturday, October 31 in the Vikings 159-54 victory over Millikin in the Carver Center pool.

Clennon was an individual double winner as she won the 1000 and 100 yard freestyle events. In the 1000 she swam a time of 11:58.93 and in the 100 she went :57.25. For good measure she anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay team to a time of 1:50.25.

Just a week earlier, Clennon won the 100 freestyle (:59.35) and the 500 freestyle (5:52.87) at the Illinois Wesleyan Halloween Invitational in Bloomington, Illinois. She also was second in a pair of relays (300 backstroke and 200 freestyle) and took third in the 200 freestyle (2:11.50) and fourth in the 100 freestyle (:59.91).

Clennon is the daughter of Jack and Nancy Clennon of Naperville, Illinois and she is a communications major.
