2009 Season - Wallner Academic All-District
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana senior midfielder Scott Wallner (Buffalo Grove HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) has been named to the first team of ESPN the Magazine’s® Academic All-District team for the college division in district five. The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the teams today.
Wallner, the son of Dyanne and John Wallner of Arlington Heights, Illinois, carries a 3.54 grade point average in physics and mathematics. With his inclusion on the Academic All-District first team, he becomes eligible to be placed on the ballot for ESPN the Magazine® Academic All-America honors.
After tying for the team lead in scoring last season with five goals and 12 points, Wallner is currently Augustana’s third-leading scorer this year. All three of his goals this season have been game winners and he also has one assist for a total of seven points. In 61 career games, 59 of them starts, he’s scored 12 goals and totaled 30 points.
Wallner was joined by Augustana goalkeeper Kayla Radloff (West Chicago HS, West Chicago, Ill.) who was a third team selection on the women’s side.
