2009 Season - Viking fall on the road

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Augustana volleyball team was unable to snap a three-match losing streak Tuesday night at North Central, falling on the road to the red-hot Cardinals in three games. The Vikings dropped the opening game 25-19 before losing 25-18 and 25-14.

After a stretch of nine wins in ten matches, the Vikings have struggled recently, dropping four in a row. They now stand at 11-16 overall and 2-5 in CCIW play. North Central improves to 28-3 and 6-1 in conference action.

Courtney Jungkickel (Naperville Central HS, Naperville, Ill.) led the Vikings with 13 kills, while Brianna Skeens (Vernon Hills HS, Libertyville, Ill.) and Bridget Reich (Pleasant Valley HS, Bettendorf, Iowa) each added six. Allison Bailey (Libertyville HS, Green Oaks, Ill.) was credited with 24 of Augustana’s 30 assists in the match. Jenae Harner led the Cardinals with 14 kills.

Augustana closes out regular season action at the Illinois Wesleyan tournament in Bloomington, Illinois on October 30 and 31.
