2009 Season - Women's soccer moves to 17th in NCAA poll
Wins last week over Wheaton and Westminster helped propel Augustana into the school’s highest national ranking ever in women’s soccer. Veteran head coach Scott Mejia’s team is now 13-1-1 overall and ranked 17 th in NCAA Division according to D3Soccer.com. Augustana broke into the top 25 at the beginning of October at 22 nd and last week the Blue & Gold was 19 th.
The win over Wheaton on October 14 was by a score of 3-2 in overtime and the Vikings then battered Westminster to the tune of 11-0 on Sunday, October 18. Augustana’s only loss this year was a 2-1 defeat at Carroll on October 7 and the tie came three days earlier at California-Lutheran by a count of 1-1.
Augustana will play at number three ranked Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, October 24 in Bloomington, Illinois.
