Ways to Save
While merit scholarships, grants, talent-based awards, student loans, and work study make up a large part of your financial assistance package, there are other ways you can save at Augustana College. Check out these events and awards open to prospective students:
Academic Department Open House and Scholarship Competition
In January, high school seniors have the opportunity to visit campus, learn more details about their intended majors, meet faculty and staff, and compete for additional scholarship. Learn more. ($1,000/year)
Good Fit T-shirt Photo Contest
If you've been to campus, you received a free Augustana t-shirt. Submit a photo with you wearing that shirt into 4 different categories: best action shot, at another college, with an alum, and in a famous location. There will even be a "people's choice" winner. Visit the Good Fit website to view entries, read contest details, and submit your own. ($1,000 for one year)
Travel Award
For students who live outside of Illinois, an additional award is available to cover extra expenses for travel purposes. Students must attend one of our visit days or a personal admissions interview and be accepted to the college to receive this award. Official campus visits must take place before March 1 of your senior year. More information on the Augustana Travel Award. ($1,000/year)
Early Filer Award
As part of the admissions process, we ask that all families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Submit this form before February 15 of your senior year and the extra award will be automatically included in your assistance package. See our financial assistance webpage or www.fafsa.gov for more information. ($500 each year you meet the deadline)
