2009 Season - Two game CCIW streak is snapped

After winning the last two College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin matches, the Augustana volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Illinois Wesleyan on Tuesday, October 13 in Bloomington, Illinois. The Titans took the match by winning by scores of 25-20; 25-21; 25-22.

Junior Courtney Jungnickel (Naperville Central HS, Naperville, Ill.) picked up a team high 16 kills in the defeat but she was the lone Augustana player in double figures. She also had 10 digs and one service ace. Sophomore Brianna Skeens (Vernon Hills HS, Libertyville, Ill.) picked up seven kills with one solo block. Senior Bridget Reich (Pleasant Valley HS, Bettendorf, Iowa), who continues her remarkable comeback from off season knee surgery, had four kills and one assisted block.

Junior Allison Bailey (Libertyville HS, Green Oaks, Ill.) led the squad in setting assists with 30 and Shannon Slick (Rockton Hononegah HS, Roscoe, Ill.) added six digs.

Augustana, which had won nine of its last 10 matches, is now 11-13 overall and 2-3 in the CCIW.
