2009 Season - Week off and a five spot drop in polls
Despite not competing last week, the Augustana men’s cross country team slipped five places in the NCAA Division III national ranking. The poll, conducted by the U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association, shows Paul Olsen’s Vikings with 160 points in 18 th place. Last week Augustana had 184 points and were 13 th.
Augustana did not compete last weekend after finishing second in the Brissman/Lundeen Invitational at Credit Island in Davenport, Iowa on Friday, September 25. The Vikings will be in action this Saturday, October 10 at the Wartburg Invitational in Waverly, Iowa.
The NCAA Division III national poll continues to be dominated by teams in the Midwest Region with four of the top 10 and five of the top 20. North Central continues to hold down the number one spot while Wisconsin-LaCrosse (third), Wisconsin-Stevens Point (seventh), Wisconsin-Platteville (ninth), Wisconsin-Oshkosh (14 th) and Augustana (18 th) are all in the top 20.
