2009 Season - Moesle named CCIW "Player of the Week"
Augustana freshman midfielder Taylor Moesle (Carl Sandburg HS, West Chicago, Ill.) has been named the “Offensive Player of the Week” in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin for women’s soccer, it was announced today. Moesle tallied a goal in each of three matches, all victories by the Vikings, last week.
She started her week by scoring the third goal of the game as Augustana defeated Greenville by a score of 6-0 on Tuesday, September 8. In a 3-0 win at Wisconsin-Stout on September 12 she got the first goal in the match and in a 1-0 win at Wisconsin-LaCrosse on September 13 she scored the only goal in the contest. She was also credited with an assist in the win over Greenville.
During the course of the week she had three goals and an assist and launched a total of 13 shots, six of which were “on goal”. She currently leads Augustana in scoring with four goals and an assist for nine points.
The daughter of Michael and Lynn Moesle of Orland Park, Taylor has helped lead the Vikings of veteran head coach Scott Mejia to a 5-0 record so far this fall. Augustana has won all five of its matches without surrendering a goal to the opposition.
