2009 Season - CCIW men's soccer poll released

The Augustana men’s soccer team was picked to finish eighth in the 2009 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin pre-season poll, it was announced today. Augustana, which went 6-9-2 overall and 1-5-1 in the league last year in Brenton Joseph’s second year as head coach, picked up 10 points in the poll.

Wheaton, which has won 15 CCIW titles down through the years, was picked to win the conference this season. The thunder totaled 49 points, including seven first place votes. Carthage was second with 37 points, including one first place vote. Elmhurst was third with 36 while North Park was fourth with 34 points. Illinois Wesleyan (28), Millikin (17), North Central (13) and Augustana (10) rounded out the field.
