Introduction to Augustana's Residence Hall Association

Dear Students,

On behalf of the Residence Hall Association (RHA), we want to welcome you to Augustana College!

RHA is the governing body for all of the hall councils here on campus known as the Upper Campus Council and the Lower Campus Council.  These councils meet every other week and are involved in all sorts of programming here on campus in which you can get involved-it's another leadership opportunity for you!  Upper Campus Council, known as UCC, includes Westerlin, Erickson, and TLA.  Lower Campus Council, known as LCC, includes Andreen, Seminary, and Swanson. 

RHA has a lot of activities planned for this school year that we would love for you to attend!  It all starts with Welcome Week. Keep an eye out for posted Welcome Week activities including capture the flag. On Saturday, August 27th we will be hosting The Amazing Race: Augie RHA Style, around campus. We will have multiple events ranging from physically challenging to intellectually challenging and everything in-between, as teams race to the finish. It's a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon and we hope to see you there! Throughout the year, you can also look forward to the Haunted House, Operation Christmas Spirit, Adopt-A-Squirrel,  Pie Your CA, and other great events!

RHA also provides services to you before you even arrive!  We have carpet and linen sales to aid you in purchasing some of your supplies before you even come to campus.  The carpets can be found at www.rhcarpets.com/aug and they will be specified to whatever room you will be living in and will be delivered before you arrive at school.  Then, once you get here on campus all you will have to do is lay it down and you will be set.   The linens can be found at www.rhl.org/aug and they sell a lot more than just sheets and pillow cases.  Everything from bedding and towels to shower caddies and flip flops can be found here!  Also, the National Residence Hall Honorary is providing care packages this year through My Favorite Student. 

We will be having our weekly Monday meetings starting August 22nd at 7pm in the College Center, Chicago Room which you are highly encouraged to attend!  Each meeting is filled with snacks, fun games, and a little business.  I hope you are getting excited about getting to campus.  Have a great rest of your summer and see you in the fall!
