FIRST YEAR OF FOOTBALL: 1893
OVERALL ALL-TIME RECORD: 515-275-38 (.651) in 96 seasons of football...The sport started at Augustana in 1893 and went for two years before being discontinued from 1895-1900...It started back up in 1901 and continued through the 1904 season when it was dropped for an 11 year stretch from 1905-16...There was also a two year gap in 1943 and 1944 during World War II...The Vikings are currently ninth all-time among all NCAA Division III schools with a .644 winning percentage…Augustana is currently on a streak of 30 seasons without a losing record…Since that streak began in 1979, the Vikings have compiled a phenomenal record of 247-62-1 for a winning percentage of .802.
