2009 Season - Vikings are number one in track for third straight week

The Augustana Vikings are the number one ranked team in NCAA Division III men’s track & field for the third consecutive week. The Vikings had a tremendous showing at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin meet last weekend, placing second behind North Central, which is currently ranked third in the nation. The polling is done by the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association. The Vikings of veteran head coach Paul Olsen finished the 2008 season ranked number one in the nation and were seventh in the 2009 indoor campaign.

 

Augustana has 215.41 points, which is up four points from the 22.85 total of last week. Wisconsin-Oshkosh (213.05), North Central (210.83), Claremont-McKenna-Harvey-Mudd-Scripps (209.510) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (209.19) round out the top five.
