2009 Season - Academic all-district team includes Brittany Snoreck
Augustana junior catcher Brittany Snoreck (Carl Sandburg HS, Orland Park, Ill.) has been named to the ESPN – The Magazine academic all-district softball team, it was announced today. Snoreck was a third team selection in District Five, which consists of the states of Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Indiana.
Snoreck led the team in batting this year with a .410 average as she collected 50 hits in 122 at-bats with 12 doubles, six home runs and 36 runs-batted-in. She was also tops on the team in slugging percentage with a mark of .656. She is now tied for sixth on the single season list for doubles and tied for seventh in home runs. She moved into fourth place on the single season RBI list.
She was a first team all-conference selection in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin for each of the last two seasons. She was also a first team all-region selection in the Great Lakes Region.
A secondary education major, Snoreck carries a 3.40 grade point average and she is the daughter of Steve and Donna Snoreck of Orland Park, Illinois.
Augustana finished the 2009 campaign with a fine 28-14 record under the direction of veteran head coach Kris Kistler. This is the 10th consecutive season that the Vikings have compiled at least 23 victories.
