2008-2009 Season - Gahn places second at St. Ambrose Spring Invite

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Senior Rachel Gahn (Edina HS, Edina, Minn.) finished her Viking career on a high note, placing second in a 51 player field at the St. Ambrose Spring Invitational on Saturday, April 25 at the Emeis Golf Course in Davenport, Iowa. Gahn shot a round of 80, finishing two strokes behind Kelly Jansen of St. Ambrose for medalist honors.

Augustana placed sixth as a team, compiling a total of 378 strokes on the day. St. Ambrose won the team event with a total score of 349. Viterbo earned runner-up honors with a team total of 357 and Ashford was third at 365. Monmouth and Mount Mercy tied for fourth place, each finishing with 371 strokes. Knox took seventh with a score of 393 and Cornell rounded out the field at 402.

Brittany Carr (Lincoln Way East HS, Frankfort, Ill.) finished 29th at the event and was second for the Vikings with a score of 97. Jessica Berens (Schaumburg HS, Schaumburg, Ill.) was the third Augustana finisher, tying for 30th place with a score of 98. Elizabeth Scarlata (Fremd HS, Palatine, Ill.) shot a 103 and finished tied for the 36th spot while Courtney Vandewiele (Rock Island Alleman HS, Rock Island, Ill.) placed 38th with a total of 104. Shasta Ketcham (Danville HS, Danville, Iowa) fired a round of 106 and took 42nd place and Katy Mascheri (Hersey HS, Mount Prospect, Ill.) shot a 109 to finish in 44th position.
