2008-2009 Season - Augustana men's golf team finishes 10th at Prairie Fire Classic
GALESBURG, Ill. – The Augustana men’s golf team finished 10th at the Prairie Fire Classic on March 27 at the Soangetaha Country Club in Galesburg, Illinois. The Vikings finished with a team score of 343. Carthage won the team event with a total of 300, edging out Wheaton by two strokes for the title. Edgewood (307), Carroll (311), Monmouth (315), Loras (321), Knox (329), Clarke (331), Dubuque (336), Cornell (346), and Illinois College (357) rounded out the field.
Sophomore Ted Keopple (Geneseo HS, Geneseo, Ill.) led the Blue & Gold with his round of 80, tying for 22nd place. Sophomore Phil Litchfield (Benet Academy, Darien, Ill.) finished in a tie for 50th place with a round of 86 while junior Zach Kinscherf (Quincy Notre Dame HS, Quincy, Ill.) shot an 87 to tie for 56th place. Sophomore Kyle Weigand (Leyden HS, Franklin Park, Ill.), sophomore Cole Wells (Tri-Valley HS, Downs, Ill.), and sophomore Timothy Deets (Polo HS, Milledgeville, Ill.) rounded out the scoring for Augustana. Each player tied for 61st place with a round of 90.
