Bio

Paul R. Croll is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Augustana College. He joined the department in 2008. His research has appeared in the journals Social Forces, Social Problems, and The American Sociologist. His research and teaching interests include whiteness, critical race theory, race and ethnic relations, social inequality, quantitative research methods, and statistics. His dissertation research examined attitudes and beliefs about race in America through the lenses of whiteness and white privilege. As a graduate student at Minnesota, he helped design and manage the American Mosaic Project Survey, a national telephone survey conducted by the Department of Sociology. He also has worked in the private sector in the field of survey research, helping government, non-profit, and higher education clients design and administer surveys.
