Vikings ousted in CCIW volleyball tournamentMillikin ended Augustana's 2011 volleyball season with a 3-0 victory in the first round of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tournament on Tuesday, November 1 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois. The Big Blue won by scores of 25-12; 25-14; 25-16 and advanced to the semi-finals on Friday, November 4 in Kenosha, Wisconsin with a 26-10 overall record. Augustana ends its season with a 9-23 mark. | |
Vikings split on Senior DayAugustana dropped an afternoon match to Dubuque in three sets Saturday, but bounced back to take a five-set thriller over Webster in the evening. The contests were part of Augustana's "Trick or Treat Matches" and the team also honored its lone senior, Brianna Skeens, on the final home date of the season. The Vikings finish the regular season with a 9-22 record. | |
Vikings drop match to Queen BeesAugustana fell in three sets to NAIA power St. Ambrose by a score of 3-0 on Friday, October 28 at Lee Lohman Arena in Davenport, Iowa. The Queen Bees moved to 24-11 on the year with the 25-16; 25-6; 25-16 victory while the Vikings fell to 8-21 overall. |
