Strength in singles carries Vikings in CCIW's NCAA qualifier over Carthage

Augustana came from behind to defeat Carthage 6-3 on Tuesday, April 30 in the semi-final round of College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin's NCAA qualifying tournament at the Lower Campus Courts. The win pushed the Vikings to 16-8 overall while the Lady Reds end their season at 11-9. With the victory Augustana moves into the championship round of the NCAA qualifier on Saturday, May 4 against the winner of either number seed Wheaton and number four seed Illinois Wesleyan today in Wheaton, Illinois.

Vikings beat Loras 8-1 to move to 15-8

Augustana wrapped up a successful regular season in 2012-13 with an impressive 8-1 women's tennis victory over Loras on Sunday, April 28 in Dubuque, Iowa. The Vikings are now 15-8 overall heading into a semi-final match in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin's NCAA Qualifier on Tuesday, April 30 at home against Carthage. That match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. at the lower campus courts.

Vikings sweep at Dubuque

After back to back losses in women's tennis, the Augustana Vikings bounced back nicely by traveling to Dubuque and handling the Spartans in an 8-1 contest. The Vikings were able to come away with all six victories at the singles competition, while adding two more at doubles. The win improved head coach Jon Miedema's record to 14-8 on the season.

Augustana freshman Aileen MacDonald has been selected as the "Player of the Week" in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin in women's tennis, it was announced today. MacDonald earned the honor after going 2-0 against Luther in a match that the Vikings dropped 3-6.

Vikings fall at Luther

Augustana dropped a 6-3 non-conference women's tennis match to Luther on Sunday, April 21 in Winona, Minnesota. The Vikings fall to 13-8 overall with the loss and they have four dual meets left in the spring season and then will participate in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin automatic qualifier on May 3-4 in Bloomington, Illinois.
