AUGUSTANA IN AUSTRALIA

Full-Time Internships in Sydney, Australia   

Winter Term 2013-14

Earn up to 12 300-level Augustana Credits! Students will receive nine 300-level Internship credits and three credits in Business Ethics (RELG 327) or Organizational Communication (COMM 402). You will meet the Learning Community requirement, internship credit, and PH Learning Perspective. Biology majors may also earn Biology internship credit.

Sydney interns complete the internship seminar and 5-week learning community class on campus from November 18 to December 20, 2013. Interns leave for Sydney on January 2, 2014. Orientation and internship Sydney takes place upon arrival, then interns complete a 7-week internship, which will end on February 26, 2014, in the major field of study of interest. After the internship, students have one week to travel on Spring Break before returning to Augustana from February 27 to March 7, 2014 to start Spring Term classes on March 10, 2014. All interns MUST be approved by the International Office, the Dean of Students Office, and their major department.

The program includes your tuition, round trip airfare, housing in 2-bedroom flats, credit classes, internship, excursion to the Blue Mountains, Sydney transportation pass, CAPA support and services throughout your program, and insurance. This program qualifies for Augie Choice funds.

Students need to budget approximately $2000 to $4000 for living expenses during first 5 weeks of Winter Term, all food/meals, refundable damage deposit ($150), possible fuel upcharge fees and increased fees due to greatly fluctuating exchange rate.
