2009 WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY REVIEW

During a season that saw a total of four different runners handle the top sport for the Augustana women’s cross country team, it was junior Hannah Hottle who was selected as the Most Valuable Performer. Hottle was the Vikings’ number one runner in four of the 11 meets during the 2009 campaign.

Augustana junior Hannah Hottle was selected as the Most Valuable Performer for the 2009 women’s cross country season. She was the number one runner in four of the 11 meets during the recently concluded campaign.

Vikings Finish 16th at Midwest Regional

The Augustana women's cross country team was led by junior Hannah Hottle Saturday at the Midwest Regional with a time of 23:26. Hottle was the 67th overall finisher in the 6,000 meter race. The meet was held in Winneconne, Wisconsin at the Lake Breeze Golf Course and was hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Vikings finished 16th overall with a score of 454.

The Augustana women's cross country team was led by freshman Theresa Coverick on Friday, November 6 at the Junior Varsity Cup, which was hosted by Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Coverick finished second in the race with a time of 23:41.

The fact that the Augustana women’s cross country team is very young was clearly evident on Saturday, October 31 at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin championship. The Vikings finished sixth in the team standings and four of the team’s top seven runner were freshmen.
