	Burns named MVP for Vikings' wrestling Augustana wrestling head coach Eric Juergens has announced his 2012-13 team award winners. Senior All-American Matt Burns was named the Vikings' Most Valuable Performer. Junior Jake Scholten won the Sacrifice Award. Sophomore Connor Cummings was named the team's Hardest Worker after being named co-Most Improved a year ago. Freshman Jimmy Panozzo earned the Most Improved honor this year.
	2012-13 WRESTLING REVIEW A seventh-place finish for 174-pound senior Matt Burns at the 2013 NCAA Division III Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa capped off another successful season for Coach Eric Juergens' Augustana wrestling program. The Vikings went 14-5 in dual meets, finished seventh at the NCAA Central Regional and tied for 40th at nationals.
	Burns becomes 50th wrestling All-American Augustana senior Matt Burns became the 50th wrestling All-American in Augustana history on Saturday, March 16 with a seventh place finish at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Burns, who was competing at 174 pounds, becomes the second Viking in as many years to earn All-American honors, joining Jordan Richardson, who was eighth in 2012, also at 174 pounds.
	Burns wins three straight to stay alive Augustana senior Matt Burns clawed his way to All-American status on Friday, March 15 at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. Burns shook off a first round defeat at 174 pounds to win three straight matches heading into Saturday's action.
	Burns qualifies for NCAA national meet Senior Matt Burns qualified for the NCAA Division III national wrestling tournament with a third place finish in the 174 pound weight class on Saturday, March 2 in Dubuque, Iowa at the Central Regional. Burns will now compete at the NCAA national tournament on March 15-16 at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
