2008-2009 Season - Augustana men's golf squad concludes fall season with fifth place finish at Red Poling Collegiate Classic
DEARBORN, Mich. – The Augustana men’s golf team finished the 2008 fall season with a fifth place finish at the Red Poling Collegiate Classic in Dearborn, Michigan on October 7. Malone won the tournament with a score of 306, followed by Hope and Monmouth in a tie for second at 318. Spring Arbor finished fourth at 329, narrowly edging out Augustan at 333. Calvin was sixth with a team total of 345.
Freshman Jordan Henry (Erie HS, Erie, Ill.) was Augustana’s top scorer for the second time this fall, finishing tied for 10th place with a score of 80. Sophomore Cole Wells (Tri-Valley HS, Downs, Ill.) was close behind with a round of 81, finishing in 13th place. Junior Zach Kinscherf (Quincy Notre Dame HS, Quincy, Ill.) finished in 19th place with a score of 84. Sophomore Ted Keopple (Geneseo HS, Geneseo, Ill.) was Augustana’s fourth scorer, shooting a round of 88 and placing 25th. Sophomore Kyle Weigand (Leyden HS, Franklin Park, Ill.) finished in 29th place with a score of 96.
