	Vikings prepare for summer trip to Brazil For the fifth time in Coach Grey Giovanine's tenure at Augustana, the men's basketball team will be taking an international trip this summer. This year's journey takes the Vikings to Brazil for a week of activities in August, including four games against professional and club teams.
	Ryan named "Rookie of the Year" in NCAA Division III An outstanding freshman season for Augustana's Ben Ryan was capped off Thursday with his selection as national Rookie of the Year by D3hoops.com. The Vikings' leading scorer and second-leading rebounder this year, he adds the national award to D3hoops' Midwest Region Rookie of the Year and CCIW Freshman of the Year accolades.
	2012-13 MEN'S BASKETBALL REVIEW In what looked like a rebuilding year for Coach Grey Giovanine's Augustana men's basketball program, the 2012-13 version of the Vikings put together a 19-8 season, finishing fourth in the CCIW and qualifying for the conference tournament for the eighth consecutive season. Augustana knocked off then third-ranked Illinois Wesleyan 53-47 at Shirk Center in the CCIW semifinals before falling to then fifth-rated North Central 70-63 in the final. It was the fourth time in eight years that the Vikings reached the championship game and the first time they didn't prevail.
	Ben Ryan regional Rookie of the Year Augustana's Ben Ryan has been named Rookie of the Year in the Midwest Region by D3hoops.com. The website announced its all-region teams Wednesday, with Ryan earning honors as the top first-year player in the Midwest. The 6' 5", 208-pound forward, who was also named Freshman of the Year in the CCIW, was the leading scorer and second-leading rebounder for the 19-8 Vikings this season.
	Kunz sweeps awards in men's basketball The Augustana men's basketball team has announced its award winners for the 2012-13 season with senior center Brandon Kunz sweeping Most Valuable Player, Outstanding Defender and Leading Rebounder honors. Junior center Kevin Schlitter and sophomore guards Danielius Jurgutis and Mark Roth have been named captains-elect for the 2013-14 season.
