Aquisition of Goods and Services
There are two primary ways to purchase goods and services:
- Purchasing cards are used for most transactions valued at $1,000 or less.
- The Datatel requisition system is used for goods valued at more than $1,000 and Services greater than $5,000.
- Services valued at less than $5,000 may be purchased with a signed purchase agreement or quotation.
NOTE: VERBAL ORDERS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A BINDING OBLIGATION
Though discouraged for day to day purchases, check requests may also be used on a limited basis for transactions which do not fit the above categories.
Regardless of method use to purchase, receipts are required for all transactions.
Competitive pricing is encouraged for all purchases, however for purchases valued at $5,000 or greater the College has adopted formalized Bid requirements, which are expected to be adhered.
